Lesson #3 - “FAITH”
August 3rd, 2008Plenteous mercy, amazing grace, great love: These adjectives seem so small. When we experience grace there is no word to describe it, and mercy is beyond all human understanding. And love; I defy human tongue to explain or describe God’s perfect love. These are His part, but our part is important because we must accept, by faith, what He wants to give.

Good evening Church,
What a day. What a wonderful Lord we serve !!! Today will long be remembered as we look back and are reminded how completely able He to lead and guide our services for our gain, and His glory.Â
What a joy to hear throughout the day as the Lord saved 4 more on the way or after they got home.
Pray fo Ben’s mother. she is stable at this time. They have many more tests and pictures to take before they know the extent of her needs. Remember Mr Butterworth as he has only been out of the hospital a few days himself.
Continue to pray for Drew, Donnie, Loyd, Lillie Mae, Cathy Booth as we go back to work.
You may not have much of a preacher but you’ve got a gold mine of a preacher’s wife. We had out of town company Friday night and another family come in Saturday night. She taught them a new song this am,  Fed them 3 meals today, made them some new cds tonight, will leave the house @ 5:45 in the am. Oh yeah thats after all the church doings this week. But that’s the difference in cans and cants.Note to self : PRAISE THE LORD FOR CANS.
Hug one when you find one
If your interested in helping to teach or wanting to learn about making preserves, Check w/ Joyce as thet will be working on that this week.
What a day after a great 3 days  after a great 4 days
What a Church , What a Lord,  What a joy   Michael
What a time, What a time!
August 1st, 2008Good morning Church,
What a time, What a time !!! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard. 4 states, 7 church groups, over 170 people
and the HAND OF THE LORD in our midst.
May the LORD ever use our Church to be a place where young people can learn to PURPOSE IN THEIR HEARTS to be seperated and counted for HIM (Dan 1:8)
I guess the part that got my heart the most was in the looking around the fellowship hall (They fed 120+ ) last night. and seeing a table with Hannah Grace, Jenna, Callie, Georgia, & Hannah Lee sitting together. Then I saw Conner and Caleb running together, both of them with the biggest smiles I’ve seen them have in ages. The Lord spoke to or smote my heart and showed me another generation in our midst that is worth every effort and expense. IS THERE NOT A CAUSE ?? I guess I should simply look at them and say that they are not my blood and don’t bear my name so let someone else weep, worry, and work. But we are not talking about a ball team, or scouts, or cheering, or some club !! SOULS ARE ALL (not a few) OF NEW CANAAN”S BUSINESS and BURDEN
Tonight @ 6:45 we need our Church to show up and meet, greet, seat, treat, and be sweet to our guests. They are someone’s child and have a soul that you and I are obligated to invest in.
We still need help today –tonight– and tomorrow– Please be willing to accept that 2 cans of beans 2 strips of bacon and 2 cups of brown sugar (or a bag of cookies) is not the extent of our obligation. We need HEARTS and HANDS and HOMES involved in the lives of these children.
The Christian life is not like a jail sentence. You do not got time off for good behaviour nor to we get released early w/ credit for time served.
MANY THANKS AGAIN TO THOSE WHO DO SO MUCH SO OFTEN.             Michael
tuesday updates
July 29th, 2008Good Morning Church,
Praise the Lord for the 2 young men who shared of  their hope and trust in our Lord on Sunday night. Pray for the others who asked the Lord to save them last week, that they may have the assurance to follow the instructions of our Lord to be baptized.
It’s time for our next Community Prayer Service on Wednesday Aug 6th. If you have someone that you would like for us to invite please get me their name and address ASAP.
Pray for these as you go through the day.Tina is to have surgery on Wednesday. Tommy Mosely is to have surgey on Wednesday. Gay has been down w/ great pain in her back for a week. She is to have an mri on Wednesday.
Ben’s dad is still in the hospital w/o a reason for the fever.
Lucille’s mother is waiting decisions about treatment for her cancer as she recovers from the surgery. Mr. Pattillo is to cancer surgery later this month. Carol Smith and Mike Cleg are 2 among many of our members and their families who face DAILY needs as they go through life.
We can never list every one of them but try to keep you updated on changes, progress and setbacks. All the e-mails in the world can’t replace personal contact among the BODY of CHRIST and the membership of New Canaan.
PRAISE THE LORD as Ben , Betty, Ryan, Martha Anne,Â
& Brady (he’s getting out of prison) have all been blessed w/ new jobs. Add T.J. to Tommy, and Lauren as they seek direction as well.
NO SERVICE WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK so that it will be easier for everyone to be there to help during the 3 days of revival this week . We still have needs for food and HELP for every service.
Hope to see EVERYONEÂ at least once as you do YOUR PART to help YOUR CHURCHÂ to be good and gracious hosts to our guests during these 3 days. Please pray for these services and for all those who will be traveling to them.
Â
Thanks for all you do for others    MICHAEL
