Thursday Night

Good evening,

Whew, what a day and a half !  I took Felicia on the “never been there tour”  33 hours, 600 + miles - 12+ hours under the wheel, lunch w/ an old friend on main street in WARRIOR ALABAMA, a visit w/ Miss Lois Haney. She looks great, is walking well, loves her prayer quilt, and misses all of you. (Felicia played and sang for her ) 2 services  and lunch with friends and relatives I’d never met @ Pleasant Hill Baptist in Flintville Al. That’s how it is with the family of God.  We Got 50 flyers stamped stuffed and stuck along the way. At the 2nd hospital in Chatanooga we found the Yates family. Lucille’s mother did well through the surgery and is waiting decisions about additional treatment. 52 phone calls sprinkled in. Bought a new straw hat at a gas station (got to keep my baby face from looking like shoe leather)  Finished out the odyssey  by getting my monthly dose of vitamin V while “walking a few chile slaw dogs” at the Varsity. ALL W/O A REAL CUP OF COFFEE.   (we all have our crosses)

P.S. Thank you NEW CANAAN for providing a vehicle and the gas to be able to go and represent you at a moment’s notice whenever needed.

Just a little mindset I’ve noticed that seems to bear out in every facet of life. It is amazing how easy it is to identify a CAN from a CAN’T from the very start of any endeavor.

CAN gets done and gets home while CAN’T is still trying to get everyone to agree and understand why they should never even try. Then if you stand around they will tell you how bad it turned out the last time they did try and why if they were you they would not even try. (note to self: avoid CAN’TS whenever possible)

No wonder LINDA SWANSON looks so old:  (Tim paid me $5.00 to say that) she’s a great grandmother. Dennis is a proud new father of a baby boy . Born today on Tina’s birthday.

Jason said today that the chemo has been ineffective and that his dad will have surgery on the 20th of Aug at the VA.

As you praise the Lord that Betty ,Martha Anne and Ben have new jobs, add T.J. to your prayers as he lost his today.

What a joy to see the encouragement and example you were to Bro. Billy and Galilean on Tuesday night. Thank you who always seem to carry the banner for our Church in the community. Many many get the credit for the love and labour such a faithful portion provide so willingly.

Please stop drop and pray for the Youth Jubilee. Who’s going, —-Who’s driving, —-Who’s riding where,—– Who’s rooming where,—– Where are we eating,—– Who’s wearing what, —–Who’s best friends, –Who’s boy or girl friends–Who’s not friends —-Who needs a friend, —-Who’s dying from the heat  (we never had to worry about that in Va.) -are all things that can kill the meeting for our group and even more long before I ever have a chance to find (or miss) God about what to preach or the Choir ever sings the 1st song. THE DEVIL is real. Just remember if there are any conflicts in these areas they were not sent from the LORD but from the adversary. THIS IS NOT OUR FIRST RODEO  I’m tireder, Felicia is older and and Joyce is crankier ($5 more dollars) than when we started. Please pray for the Lord to overwhelm our group as He has done each year for His Glory and Honor.  It’s always been the greatest week of the year. I expect more of the same this year. PRAY

Good morning Church,

Thanks to the Lord for the great day yesterday. Thanks to each of you as well. Kudos to Tim for leading such a time of encouragement and inclusion to so many.  The food was overwhelming. LADIES what a great job you do every time we set a table.

Please help as we show our support to our friends at Galilean as well as Mt Sinai by being with us THIS TUESDAY. The service starts at 7:30. the bus leaves at 7:00. This will be our midweek service fot the week.

YOUTH JUBILEE is only a few days away. Please pray for all aspects of the trip. It’s still not to late to go. Have any of our adults considered driving up for a night and day just to see what the Lord has been doing through our youth for the last 10 years? (nothing lasts foever) It can’t be any easier: I-85 north for 275 miles and your there. Let me know so I can make arraingements.

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT REVIVAL is the 31st. This is an opportunity created especially to minister to our young adults who are not able to get off work to go to Jubilee as well as an opportunity for our young people to reach out to their co-workers, friends, as well as team-mates  and classmates.  Attention all adults. We will need help with meals all 3 days . I am hoping to spread the load around and not have anyone work on more than 1 meal.

It is a quiet start to the week as far the hospitals go. Melonie asked yesterday that we pray for Lucille’s mother Mrs. Yates. She has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Tina is to have a procedure in the Dr’s office tomorrow.

Many names and needs still remain. It would be a good time to go back over our lists and call and check in with those who face daily issues hardships.

It’s a joy to journey with you,  MICHAEL

Since Tuesday these needs have become known: Cindy’s surgery went well,. She is expected to be released today. Tina is to have a procedure next week. Stacy Johnson has more tests next week.Gelaine has shingles(so far a mild case) Ricky’s Lance’s sister in law (Marilynn Wallace?) needs our prayers Greg’s Dad was dismissed from the hospital. Lowell Lance is back in GMC. Colby’s mother was still in GMC yesterday hopefull to go home by day’s end.

Tuesday night the 15th will be our midweek service for the week as we will go to Galilean to show support for Mt. Sinai, as they will be singing and Billy will be preaching there.

Hope to see you soon      MICHAEL

Good morning Church,

Thanks for all you did on Sunday. The welcome and reception you gave to Samuel and Labreeska meant so much to them. Your willingness to move the evening service at the last moment to be a friend to those who have been such friends to us gave a great glimpse into your heart. As always it is a joy to be the Pastor of such a people as you. The people of Community were so appreciative of your kindness and encouragement.

HOMECOMING is this Sunday. The ”all day singing“ has already went the way of the wooly mammoth. is “dinner on the grounds” soon to follow? You have a chance to vote this week. Remember no Sunday School this week.

Many new needs as far as our prayers are concerned. T.J.’s

Colby’s mother Kimberly has had another setback and remains in GMC. Drew was sick Sunday p.m.

Carol’s vision is expected to return soon.Betty Duffy has a friend in Rome Ga she has asked us to pray for. Roberta Irvin’s husband George passed away yesterday. They are at Tim Stewart’s.(visitation today 2-4 and 6-8 funeral Wed. @11Lauren is waiting results of a job interview. Brady has one in Thursday. Continue to pray for the Chadwick family. Please help me pray for a n 11 year old boy named Chase. He has lukemia. I met his mother Tina last week., and told her we would add their names to our prayer ministry.

Good morning Church,

Praise the Lord for the rain as well as the several good outcomes among our Church Family.

Many  many needs remain as well as these that have been recently made known; Glen Wehunt was dismissed yesterday A.M. I saw him at his home after service. He is doing much better and is waiting adjustments in his medications. PRAY for Marie as well as she has had a great deal of pain recently and faces eye surgery tomorrow.

Carol White (Martha Anne’s mother) is still much in need of help from the Lord. Physically as well as spiritually her needs are great. Mike Cleghorn needs our prayers each day during this time as he faces another battle with his sickness and pain.

Pray for Becky Moore and her family. McHoyt’s funeral is Tuesday afternoon and they will be receiving friends at Flannigans from 2-4 and 6-9.

Wednesday night we wil have an outdoor fellowship beginning at 7:00. Watermelon, Wholly Board, Horseshoes, and small talk are on the menu.

Remember that Samuel Atkinson is scheduled to be with us this Sunday during the Sunday School Hour. He and Labreiska will provide special music during the 11:00 service as well.

I will try to get a full list out soon.Suffice to say if they needed your prayers last week they still do.    MICHAEL
